Introduction

Titanium is a precious metal because of its utilization areas. Although, it is tough to prospect and process. In the industry, titanium dioxide and ilmenite compounds are the main purpose to gain. is used in the space and airplane industry, war industry, chemistry, and electrochemistry industry, so it has strategic importance (MTA, n.d.). Some properties that have significance for the experiment are shown in the figure.

About the Experiment

In the experiment, the sample is subjected to leaching experiments. Many experiments were done by changing the parameters such as the type of the acid or base, concentration of the solid-liquid solution. A magnetic agitator was chosen for the leaching process because there was a drying process after leaching. The pulp was poured into the funnel by using the Buhner Funnel. Although, the pulp was diluted with pure water to not harm the filter paper. Then, the samples were taken to the furnace for the drying procedure.

After drying the samples, they were ground in the mortar and packed in small sample bags for analysis.
